For some brides, it’s the dress. For others, it’s the bouquet. For Amanda, it’s always been the shoes.
Since getting engaged, shoes have been what Amanda has been most excited for (second of course, to Kevin). But, we’re not just talking shoes. We’re talking shoes and what a beautiful excuse to buy shoes. This was her moment.
After a pedicure and some liquid courage, anticipating the credit card bill that was to come, Amanda and I headed to Saks – both feeling out-of-place and excited. After finding that the shoe section was on the second floor and seeing no escalator in sight, we hesitated for a moment, but not even the added exercise could stop us from reaching our goal.
Nervous, Amanda pre-maturely removed the plastic bags covering her newly painted toenails. Slipping off her flats, feeling like Cinderella already, she found all ten toes had been smudged. Not a great start to feeling like a princess. But, after a quick lap around the shoe section pretending we were only browsing, we must have looked in need of help because in walked Jonathan…
Turns out, Jonathan was a personalized shopper who specialized in wedding shoes. Here is a sneak peek of what happened next…
To see what she picked…well…you’ll have to wait until September. Hint… we did find out that Saks gives you free champagne if you spend enough.
The thing no one really thinks about with glass slippers is the potential nerve and artery damage if one of those things breaks. Then Cinderella gets a gangrenous foot and has to hobble around. Nobody marries a hobbler. I’m glad to see Amanda steered clear of the possible gangrenous foot outcome.
Also, I guess WordPress doesn’t let you leave a picture in the comments so http://mandofresko.com/wp-content/uploads/I-Choo-Choo-Choose-You.jpg
