Brianne & Kevin: A Fairlee Wedding Tale

23 Aug

For Brianne & Kevin, it was love at first sight. For me, it was love at first sight with their wedding venue.

Brianne & Kevin Murphy’s wedding took place on August 4, 2012 at Lake Morey in Fairlee, VT. The details were so beautifully rustic, I just had to share some of the highlights!

We were picked up by a pontoon boat to go to the wedding. We had a great view of the wedding grounds from the water, and an even better view from land!

Homemade signage decorated the wedding grounds. Creative DIY chalkboards replaced the traditional programs and menus.  I LOVED how they looked and completely fit the theme of the wedding (& the bride and groom).

The ceremony was incredibly beautiful.  The bride looked stunning in her ivory lace dress, and if you weren’t distracted by her beauty, you were distracted by the view behind the vows. The guests even sat on haystack seating. YEEHAW!

On to the reception!  I absolutely adored their table assignments, which were hand written and clothes-pinned to an old window pane.  The centerpieces were flower arrangements in my favorite, Mason Jars. The reception was held on a tented tennis court, and to top it off, a delicious BBQ dinner.

A few other worthy details – the bride and groom’s handmade sign greeting all the guests was ADORABLE. Their guestbook was different than anything I’ve seen before – a picture of a bare tree, where guests could put their thumbprint on a branch and sign below. I mean… I might steal this.

The end of the night was perhaps the most special (after the exchanging of vows). Brianne put together “Wishing you S’more Love”  packages (thank you, Pinterest).  You can’t make S’mores without a bonfire, which they had. Obviously.  And to top it off, FIREWORKS! Man I loved this wedding!
